ESG trends: innovation that paves the way for new business

The market leaves no doubt: the future of finance and business competitiveness is sustainable. In Brazil, assets in ESG funds more than doubled in just two years, rising from R$1.8 billion in 2022 to R$4.3 billion in 2024, according to Anbima (the Brazilian Financial and Capital Markets Association). At the same time, public programs such as Plano Safra (Brazil’s annual federal agricultural financing plan) already earmark specific sustainable credit lines, while global impact funds keep breaking fundraising records.

This acceleration shows that investors, regulators and clients do not want just rhetoric. They are looking for reliable metrics and structured data to direct capital, assess risks and identify companies that are genuinely committed to the ESG agenda.

As sustainable investment grows, a window of possibilities opens for companies in every sector. To ride this wave, good intentions are not enough: companies need mechanisms that make diagnosis easier and make ESG tangible in a way that is easy to interpret.

Tools such as ESG scores are already gaining prominence worldwide. More than ratings or static reports, they represent a balance between two worlds:

  • Protection against risks, by identifying regulatory, environmental and reputational vulnerabilities before they become crises.
  • Opening the door to opportunities, by proving that projects, credit lines, suppliers or partners are aligned with the sustainable practices the market demands.

ESG as an indicator for innovation Link para esta seção

ESG is also establishing itself as an indicator for innovation. Companies that structure their indicators are able to create new products, attract strategic clients and expand more safely into segments such as renewable energy, the circular economy and green credit.

A concrete example comes from the financial sector: the Economia Verde (Green Economy) project, led by the cooperative Sicredi Ouro Verde MT, was presented at the UN Leaders Summit in New York. Recognized internationally, the case showed how reliable data can enable sustainable credit, attract investment and boost competitiveness.

Credibility to raise capital Link para esta seção

Beyond supporting innovation, ESG indicators work as a credential for raising capital. Investors and banks prioritize projects backed by consistent metrics, and a strong rating opens doors to mechanisms such as green bonds, blended finance and impact funds. What used to be a competitive differentiator is now a requirement for accessing funding.

From concept to impact: how the ESGreen Score consolidates the ESG trend Link para esta seção

More than following trends, companies need solutions that truly turn data into competitive advantage. This is where the ESGreen Score comes in: a score that integrates 12 layers of critical information, consolidating data from more than 70 auditable sources.

The layers assessed include tax compliance, lawsuits, integrity, climate risks, occupational health and safety, environmental violations and adverse media mentions. The result is a complete diagnosis that supports companies in three dimensions:

  • Risk reduction (regulatory, reputational and climate).
  • Agility in decision-making.
  • Access to new business and sources of capital, nationally and internationally.

Used by more than 60 financial institutions, the ESGreen Score is already a market benchmark as an ESG indicator. More than a metric, it is an engine of transformation, capable of turning data into real impact and new business.
